¶The department chair also described gathering resources and encouraging faculty in obtaining local and national grants that supported summer salaries and academic release time as well as travel to conferences. Space had to be found and reserved for the on-going card sorting process and then for a dedicated and remodeled classroom once the plan was approved. Computers and other equipment had to be procured and deployed, software obtained or developed, and suitable materials across subdisciplines identified.
