Chapter 2 Reflecting upon Successes with the Approved Changes in Instruction

Several of the changes in instruction approved in 2016 were going well. The faculty members interviewed agreed that the shift from three-week to five-week courses was a good move, that the two new sophomore courses had increased students' sophistication in developing physics knowledge, use of advanced mathematical techniques, writing ability, and sense-making skills as anticipated, and that having the same faculty member teach just-in-time mathematical techniques through integrating Math Bits into every junior-level paradigms in physics course was a useful extension of a successful process that had evolved earlier in a few of the paradigms in physics courses.
