Chapter 1 Learning about the Paradigm in Physics Program
¶Initial awareness of the paradigm in physics program varied widely, from no knowledge prior to applying for a faculty position to substantial experience teaching paradigm courses earlier as a postdoctoral fellow. Once aware of the program, however, the new faculty members seemed to appreciate many of its aspects. These seemed to contribute positively to recruiting faculty to accept an offer, whether the focus was on the reformed curriculum or use of active engagement strategies or both.
