Chapter 2 Initial Physics Department Culture
¶During the twenty years that preceded the Paradigms in Physics program, the OSU physics department's culture evolved from a focus primarily upon research to one that valued teaching as well. This shift occurred largely due to leadership provided by a new department chair, one who hired faculty with interests in teaching as well as in research and who fostered their growth in both endeavors.
