Section 10.4 Procrastinated changes
¶Subsection 10.4.1 Capstones and specialty courses
Proposal:
Procrastinate coming up with a plan for E&M Capstone, Quantum Capstone, Thermal Capstone, Optics, Solid State, AMO, Biophysics, Astrophysics, and Particle Physics. No changes in these courses for the 2016/2017 year.
We anticipate that most of these courses may not be substantially changed, but would like to clarify what is expected in each course.
Subsection 10.4.2 Major requirements
Proposal:
Make decisions later. We need to reform and regularize the “options” system, either by defining a new set of options, or by making the major more flexible and providing a set of suggestions for possible choices for different students.
We hope that we will agree that the Paradigms and sophomore courses are required of all physics majors, regardless of option or specialty.
