Section 3.6 Meeting One-on-One with Every Faculty Member to Discuss Proposed Changes

As the Paradigms 2.0 committee meetings continued, the members made incremental progress in rethinking the organization of the junior-level courses as they moved the index cards from one column to another. They invited individual faculty members with special expertise to meet with at least one member of the committee to ponder possible changes early in the discussions. They decided who should meet with whom, based upon who was most comfortable with a faculty member and most knowledgeable about that person's likely concerns. The committee member welcomed the faculty member to the card-sorting table, listened and responded to any concerns expressed, including letting individual faculty move the cards around to try out different scenarios to address those concerns. Eventually every faculty member met with one or more of the committee members in this way. During the Paradigms 2.0 committee meetings, the members discussed such input they had received individually and considered modifications as needed.
