Section 4.2 Talking with a prior instructor of the course

A frequent way of proceeding was to talk directly with the last faculty member to teach the course and, if possible, with the person who had initially designed the course. As one of the new faculty members commented about learning how to teach one of the paradigm in physics courses:

I think it was basically sitting with (the prior instructor and developer of the course) a couple of times because I was really trying to take the material the way he taught it and reproduce that.

This direct contact was not always possible due to retirements and sabbaticals that experienced faculty were spending elsewhere.
