Section 8.11 Offering teaching seminar for interested faculty and graduate students
Create a formal seminar for graduate students and faculty that focuses upon teaching. Include and discuss reading selections from the research literature on learning and teaching, particularly papers about student learning of relevant topics and about pedagogical strategies that the department is using or contemplating using. Also model active engagement strategies during class sessions. Explore phenomena to increase familiarity and confidence with equipment often used in labs.
