Encourage all faculty to keep improving instruction but also to check intended changes in order to maintain a coherent curriculum.
Encouraging investment in improving instruction by clarifying content and designing innovative activities.
Encourage all faculty to make creative and innovative changes as they gain experience teaching a course, that is how instruction improves and reflects current faculty expertise as well as current students' abilities and interests.
Requesting discussion of intended changes with colleagues who are knowledgeable about the overall curriculum in order to become aware of possible implications of omissions or additions.
Also encourage faculty to explore what implications their intended changes may have for the overall program. Some of these discussions can occur productively among the faculty participating in the curriculum committee meetings at one's own level and through visits to the relevant curriculum meetings at another level.
